Nishadi Bandara graduated from our group on Wednesday January 28th, 2026. Her dissertation was titled ‘Graphene-Based Polymer Hydrogels for Sustainable Moisture Driven Energy Generation, Wearable Sensing, and Environmental Remediation’.

Deep and Team AeroGraphiX secured funding for their groundbreaking work on graphene-modified HEPA filters. By leveraging solvent interface trapping to coat glass fibers with graphene, they’re pushing the boundaries of air filtration technology with enhanced performance and antimicrobial properties.

This achievement showcases how fundamental research in materials science can translate into innovative solutions for real-world challenges. From the lab bench to the pitch stage – we couldn’t be prouder!

We’re excited to share that Jinzhou Liu has successfully passed his oral general exam, marking a significant milestone in his PhD journey. This accomplishment reflects his hard work, deep understanding of his research, and strong preparation.
